Peter L. Lu received BA and MD degrees from Northwestern University, Ilinois, USA, before completing his paediatrics residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and advanced training in neurogastroenterology and motility disorders at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. 

Dr. Lu’s current research focus includes the evaluation of neuromodulation-based treatment for children with functional GI disorders (FGIDs), and he has authored several research papers, invited reviews and book chapters on FGIDs, including the epidemiology in children and risk factors for their development. He holds leadership positions in the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society and the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN).
