Dr. Hooper’s interests revolve around pediatric neuropsychology, with specific activities devoted to outreach, research, and clinical endeavors. For 26 years, Dr. Hooper directed a long-standing Child and Adolescent Neuropsychology Service at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where he saw children and their families with a wide variety of neurodevelopmental and acquired neurological disorders. Translational research efforts have focused on phenotypic descriptions of children with genetic disorders, neurodevelopmental disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and chronic disease conditions, and associated clinical trials using pharmacological, educational, cognitive, and social cognitive evidence-based interventions.
